I Pioneers of the Italian Red Cross were selected as winners of the Youth Award 2007 , an award organized by the Youth Commission of the International Federation of National Societies of the Cross Red and Red Crescent and intended to give due recognition to the work of youth within the Movement.
The news was announced by the Director of Policy & Communications Division of the Federation who congratulated the President of the National Red Cross, Massimo Barra, and the pioneers who have made a difference in the community, working to assist vulnerable.
The prize was awarded in the category "Capacity Building", which aims to recognize the youth organizations of the Red Cross, which increase the capacity of National Societies to address their actions in favor of those who suffer situations of vulnerability.
decisive for the allocation of prize was the analysis of the Associative Project, the official document that defines the CRI mission, characterization, prerogatives and the peculiarities of the young component, whose main objective is to improve society and alleviate the suffering of those who is in difficulties.
The award will be presented during the proceedings of the General Assembly of the Federation, provided of course in Geneva 19 to 23 November 2007.
